The Syracuse Orange women’s basketball season is fast approaching, and we’re continuing our player profiles for each scholarship player. Let’s hear about a player going into her second season with the Orange: Lexi McNabb
Position: Point Guard
Class: Sophomore
Vitals: 5’7”
Stats (2022-23): Averaged 0.9 points and 0.2 rebounds per game in her first year with the Orange. Appeared in 10 games last season playing a total of 4.2 minutes on average per game.
Strengths/Weaknesses: For the majority of the season, McNabb spent most of her time on the bench. Despite not having an impact during games, she compensated for it off-court. She exudes a positive vibe in the locker room and constantly uplifts her team with energy and encouragement. Whenever given an opportunity to play, we see her constant hustle for the ball.
Ceiling: McNabb is looking to come off the bench and show the work she put in during the off-season. During the Rochester exhibition, fans were able to witness the progress in McNabb’s three-point shots.
Floor: To witness McNabb’s true talent, it is crucial for her to step off the bench this season and get more playing time. As a point guard, having good ball skills and passing abilities are essential; however, if McNabb can also exhibit strong leadership qualities on the court, the Orange will have a high chance of victory.
