Anisa Williams: Gas prices are on the rise and as N-C-C's Anisa Williams reports, relief could be on the way.

Anisa Williams: Communications Specialist for AAA (Triple A) Western and Central New York, Valerie Puma says gas prices in Syracuse took another big jump last week, up 10 percent.

Valerie Puma: Gas demand decreased over the last week while total domestic supplies increased as refinery operations are returning to normal after last month's extreme heat in certain parts of the country.

Anisa Williams: Puma says it's not a surprise that gas prices right now are on the way up.

Valerie Puma: Gas prices are typically higher in the summer months because we switch from the cheaper winter blend of gasoline to the more expensive summer blend in the spring as temperatures rise.

Anisa Williams: But the good news is the cost of gas is expected to drop down once the summer travel season comes to an end.
